THE ELECTRICITY WORKS (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2017

SCOPING OPINION REQUEST FOR PROPOSED SECTION 36 APPLICATION – ARECLEOCH EXTENSION WIND FARM NEAR BARRHILL IN THE LOCAL AUTHORITY AREA OF SOUTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL AND DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL.

 A formal request for a Scoping Opinion has been submitted to the Scottish Ministers by SLR Consulting limited on behalf of Scottish Power Renewables in respect of the proposed Arecleoch Extensions Wind Farm near Barrhill in the local authority area of South Ayrshire Council and Dumfries and Galloway Council.

The applicable legislation is regulation 12 of the Electricity Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Scotland) Regulations 2017 under which the Scottish Ministers are required to consult the specified statutory bodies (and other interested parties) as to their views on the information which ought to be provided in the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (“EIA Report”) which is required to be undertaken for the proposed development.

When in the link/website:

–  click on Search tab; then,

–  click on Simple Search tab; then,

–  type Arecleoch Extension into Search by Project Name box then click on Go; then

–  click on ECU00000720 and then click on Documents tab.

For the Scottish Ministers to be able to issue a comprehensive Scoping Opinion we ask that you review the Scoping Report and associated documents and advise if there is anything further you would like the Scottish Ministers to highlight for consideration.  This should include site specific comments and observations.  It can also include advice on the proposed assessment methodology and any other further guidance and/or relevant policy to be referred to during the EIA process but not covered in the Scoping Report.

I would be grateful for your comments by Friday 30th of November 2018.  Please note reminder letters will not be issued therefore if we have not received your comments, nor have we received any extension request by this date we will assume you have no comment to make.
