Shetland wind farm campaigners will take fight to Supreme Court

A spokesman for Sustainable Shetland said: “It was resolved that an appeal be lodged with the Supreme Court in London following the recent decision of the Inner House of the Court of Session.”

In October 2013, judge Lady Clark set aside planning consent which had been granted to the wind farm.

Lady Clark’s decision was made after Sustainable Shetland expressed concern that the turbines would fail to protect rare wildlife on Shetland and kill migratory birds.

The group argued that government ministers should have held a public inquiry when potential problems became known.
